G'day James A check of FreeBMD indicates that between September Q 1837 and December Quarte 1859 there were some 232 births in Someset with the surname DIBBLE. Have you checked any of those and maybe ordered a birth certificate of one of which you are sure. Birth certificates will usually proved the maiden name of the mother and this will give you a lead as to her identity. Ray Many thanks. I only buy certs for close rellies. This is only a twig on an outer branch of a tree in the forest. Just trying to do a bit of tidying up, as I dislike marriages without a second name.
