She sailed from London on the Mary III on 16 April 1835 and arrived in Sydney on 6 September 1835. As far as I know no members of Mary's family accompanied her out there. The only family I know of in Australia come from her two marriages. I recently discovered that she spent five months in Maitland Gaol in 1861 for attempting to kill her second husband (my ancestor) with a knife! Apparently, her husband made sure that all knives in the household were blunt, due to his wife's excitable disposition. This isn't relevant to the research, really, but I thought you might find it amusing. It also made me much more interested in finding out where she came from.
