Hello all, I am a new member to this list. I am hoping to get some leads or information on one line of my ancestors who migrated to South Australia from North Petherton in Somerset. I live in New South Wales, Australia and am so unfamiliar with the geography of England that I had to search a map to fin North Petherton! My ancestor was Rev George PINKSTONE who was a Congregational Minister in North Petherton. He was born about 1803. I also know that he had only one brother whose name was William PINKSTONE and who died at his residence in Nottinghill, London on 1 December 1863 aged 69. My ancestor George migrated to Adelaide South Australia aboard the Ship Royal Sovereign which sailed from Plymouth on 17 February 1849. George PINKSTONE brought his wife (Helen, I think) and his seven children including my great, great, grandfather Edmund PINKSTONE. I would love to learn more about this PINKSTONE family and their life in North Petherton. Has anyone been researching them or come across them? Any advice on how from this distance I might research George's time as Minister of the Congregational Church? Any thoughts or advice would be very welcome. Sincerely Rob Flynn
