Charlotte came over on the same ship "Trusty" with her husband Dr Henry Allen (later returned to England). John and Maria were married in Stapleton Gloucester in 1818 and their witnesses were Fanny and ? Rees. In the 1841 census the Lock family lived at 9 New Bond St Place, Bath. John and his brother? Joel were proprieters of the Rainbow Inn in Upper Borough Walls Bath, where John also had a bottle and leech warehouse. Later John and his son Henry had a merchant trading business in Moka St, Port Louis, Mauritius. They both died there, John in 1862 (aged 63) and Henry in 1880 (aged 57). Maria died at Busselton WA (aged 86?) in the home they built named "Lockeville" (the family was well known in Australia for racing and breeding horses on this property). John jnr married Mary Layman in WA, Eli! zabeth married George Sadler in WA (later returned to England) and Henry married Letitia Duman in Mauritius. Any info on the Lock family would be greatly appreciated as I would like to find out the names of John and Maria's parents and where they were born. I would also like to find the baptism registers for John, Henry, Charlotte and Elizabeth as they were all noted to be born in Bath in the 1841 census. Linda.
