Hello list, The other day I read this on another family history list. ___________________________________________________________ You can access newspapers back to 17th century on a free trial at Gale - British Library - I have found hundreds of references to my families - great with BDM notices too: http://access.gale.com/gdctrial/ in "Institution" type international _____________________________________________________________ It worked for me with no problems, and the friendly email that I received from the Gale Digital Collection Trial Site included this: "The access period is limited, so don't delay in exploring the products and sharing it with your colleagues" So that's what I'm doing now, colleagues. Enjoy! (It actually includes much more than the British Library digitised collections.) Sue
Hi Sue, I clicked on the Gale link immediately but all I got was a registration form that asked for my name, e-mail, title, institution, etc. I'm researching for myself, no institution. How can I try this site? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sue Ahrens" <sue.ahrens@ntlworld.com> To: <ENG-SOMERSET@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 17, 2008 8:44 AM Subject: [ENG-SOM] Free trial > Hello list, > > The other day I read this on another family history list. > ___________________________________________________________ > You can access newspapers back to 17th century on a free trial at Gale - > British Library - I have found hundreds of references to my families - > great > > with BDM notices too: > http://access.gale.com/gdctrial/ > > in "Institution" type international > _____________________________________________________________ > > It worked for me with no problems, and the friendly email that I received > from the Gale Digital Collection Trial Site included this: "The access > period is limited, so don't delay in exploring the products and sharing it > with your colleagues" > > So that's what I'm doing now, colleagues.
