    3. Peter, (and Janet), As I was going into Taunton today, I thought I would visit the Somerset Studies Library and talk to the fount of all knowledge there, only he doesnt come in on Mondays! However, his colleague put me right in investigating the West Somerset Free Press for 1967 and very quickly I found the death notice for Reginald Crundell Punnett on 3rd. Jan. 1967. It only had three lines and described him as a Professor of Genetics at Cambridge, aged 92. When I had moved on to the Record Office at Obridge, I had a look in their online catalogue for "Punnett" and there were 2 entries. One was before RCP's time and referred to a Will in the Bath area of a Sarah Howey Punnett but the other referred to "Alterations and extensions to Bilbrook House, (Punnett)" and dated 1940. This obviously being yours, it looks as if RCP possibly owned Bilbrook House by 1940, probably planning for retirement. I've also looked at Access to Archives (A2A) and there are 48 references to "Punnett" at least 6 of which are to RCP who, it would appear, was a Professor by 1917! If I find any more, I'll let you know, Regards, Martin Southwood
