    3. Val - Please don't be discouraged. I can't help you but I do hope someone else on the List can. Andrea - sorry, but I don't agree with you. I know it takes a bit more time to decipher a message with no punctuation, but spare a thought for the person writing it. We can't all be professional typists, and the "pick and peck" brigade should be congratulated on making the effort. Be patient - their requests for information are just as valid as the ones from those of us who are perhaps better typists. Jan another grumpy old woman having a rant :-) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrea Day" <farmacy@activ8.net.au> To: <eng-somerset@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 25, 2008 6:25 AM Subject: Re: [ENG-SOM] perry > Val, you're by no means the only one who does this, and I don't know > whether > other listers agree - perhaps I'm just a grumpy old woman! - but I have to > work harder to make sense of text that has no capitals where appropriate, > and little punctuation; names of people and places, as well as the actual > question, simply disappear. 3. It all depends on whether or not you want people to help you. The easier you make it for them to read your requests, the more likely you are to get assistance. Hitting the 'Shift' key appropriately is not rocket science. That said, if the O(riginal) P(oster) gets the birth certificate for Births Jun 1879 Crichard James Tom Axminster 5b 13, http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ there may be a connection - perhaps James Tom's mother was a PERRY ? Anne South Australia yet another grumpy old woman... Janet Cridland wrote: > Val - Please don't be discouraged.
