Re-posting my interest – Just in case the mystery can be solved please. SUTTON. Edward went to Ireland and met and married Mary Coates. They had a child Henry in Belfast in 1840 (according to marriage & death certs). SUTTON. Mary was on the 1841 census in Combe, St. Nicholas. But no sign of husband Edward or child Henry on census. SUTTON. Arabella was born 1843 in Combe, St. Nicholas. Birth cert. confirms parentage. SUTTON. Eleanor was born 1849 in Combe St. Nicholas. Birth cert. confirms parentage. According to a print out from Ireland about the Coates burial plot. It states Edward Sutton died and buried in Ireland 1850. This ties in with 1851 census of Combe St Nicholas that Mary is now a widow. Again on the 1861 census. Mystery is : Where did Mary go after Somerset? I have been unable to find her birth in Ireland. I have been unable to find her death. Why does her son Henry not show on the census of Somerset? (He migrated to Australia in about 1857) Where was her husband Edward ? Why did she come to Somerset? Perhaps this was Edward’s birthplace. Posting the above again – Just in case someone can solve my case. Regards.............Margaret a P
