    1. [ENG-SOM] BOND FAMILY OF PORLOCK
    2. Does anyone know if there might be some Scottish origin to the above family? We have generations of men named Andrew, James and Charles, with the earliest mention in Porlock [that I know of] being an AUCHTER BOND, which sounds a bit Scottish to me. If so, maybe they had Stuart sympathies? It's a thought anyway. Pleased for any clues, WENDY

    3. Wendy As far as Scottish is concerned Auchter means high or high place ... or similar but I am not an expert; just lived there for a while.
