    3. Apologies if you have already seen this request elsewhere trying to cover all bases. I am putting this over for a lady from my local genie society. Thanks for any help Edie Robert Evans was born c1827 as on his marr certificate at Clifton Regisry Office, Gloucestershire to Mary Ann Tucker, it states he is 25 in 12 March 1852. father of Robert was James Evans Cordwainer or Shoemaker. Mary Anns father was Thomas Tucker a Quarryman. Mary Ann remarried Roberts brother George Evans a widower and James as father appears on both certs. It is assumed that Robert was either a Captain or crew man on the ill fated "Colombo" This is a family account from a person who as a Memorial certificate to Robert Evans. Unfortunately not seen by any who are researching this family. This has yet to be proven. The Captain of the ship was Robert Evans but there could also have been a crewman named Robert Evans. Robert and Mary Anns children were Robert Thomas Evans born at Bachen Cliff? Somerset. Birth was registered at Bath b 10 March 1856. Robert was listed as a Vessels mate and Mary Ann nee Tucker. George Henry Evans c1859 born Bristol and Mary Ann born 1862 born at Charlotte street, Bedminster to Robert Evans Mariner in the Merchant Service and Mary Ann Evans nee Tucker In 1861 the family are at Charlotte st Bedminster, Somerset as follows. Mary Ann Evans aged 28 Sailors wife, she is born Wells, Soms. Robert thos 5 b Bath, George Henry 2 born Bristol Mary Ann Evans (Roberts widow) remarried George Evans, widower 7 March 1872 both of Lyncombe, Somerset on certifcate, James Evans, Shoemaker and Mary Anns stepfather George Allwood. George Evans occupation as inspector of works India. Not sure if his previous marraige took place in India. The main mystery is Robert seniors birth c1827 with father James a Shoemaker or Cordwainer. mother unk. More on George Henry born c1859 Thanks for any help Edie
