My gt. grandfgather married twice and moved around the counties of Dorset, Devon and Somerset before finally settling in Milverton. I have the following information relating to his second marriage, the children being half siblings to my grandfather. I would be pleased if there is anyone out there who knows anything of the family. In 1901 Henry is found at Uplowman near Tiverton in Devon, living in a steam roller and presumably working on road-building, and has deducted 5 years from his age.. His wife was not with him but he was married, to his second wife [Lavinia]. Since finding the family on the 1911 Census, I was able to locate Lavinia and 3 older children at Dorchester in 1901, where she gave her place of birth as Dawlish, Devon, but in 1911 said she was born in Cornwall. >From the Free BMDs, their marriage took place at Weymouth in June Quarter 1896. IND born Tiverton June 1928, Vol. 5b, p. 552 DAVID C. IND born Tiverton June 1930, Vol. 5n p. 528 ROGER L. IND born Surrey Mid Eastern Sept. 1936, Vol. 2a p. 317 In all three cases, the mother’s maiden name is given as OSMOND. I have found nothing further as yet on Philadelphia‘s siblings, WILLIAM HENRY and LOUISA AMELIA A., but there are a couple of possible marriages for Louisa in Tiverton, which is quite near Milverton, just over the border. 1911 MILVERTON, WELLINGTON SOMERSET Henry Osmond was living at Houndsmoor, Milverton,, with his second wife and children as follows.
