It is interesting that there is an announcement in the The Bristol Mercury (Bristol, England), Saturday, October 7, 1865; Issue 3940. of the death of Captain Robert Evans of the ship Colombo of the port of Liverpool, which was lost in the cyclone at Calcutta on 5th Oct 1864 which does suggest that the Capt was known in this part of the country. Having researched the above I found other postings of yours which show that you already know this. HI Pat Yes we have that announcement and I am trying to find the birthplace and ate and mother , father is James, of Robert Evans. His wife Mary Tucker was born at Wells Somerset. Some events took place at Gloucestershire, butnot the birth so it appears. Mary Ann ended back at Bedminster, somerset. Any EVans or Tucker famlies from this area would be useful.
