But there is information on other Bristol & Avon Family History Society CDs about the groom being made a Bristol Burgess through his marriage with the daughter of a Bristol Burgess and also information on the likely baptism of the bride. I sent the following to the Bristol_and _Somerset list earlier today: It looks like the bride's father was John TUTTON because Edward Perrin TULK, a brassfounder, was made a Bristol Burgess on 6th. April 1784 through his marriage with Nancy, the daughter of John TUTTON, a hooper. I've read that girls/women called Nancy could also be known as Ann. Bristol Burgess information from the CD of Bristol Burgess Books Vols. 1 to 21 Index & Transcripts 1557-1995 produced by Bristol & Avon Family History Society. www.bafhs.org.uk It looks like the bride, Ann TUTTON, was Nancy TUTTON, the daughter of John and Elizabeth. Two children called Nancy TUTTON. who had parents called John and Elizabeth, were baptized at St. Stephen's Church, Bristol in the 1760s. The first Nancy was baptized on 20th. April 1760, but she may have died as there was a burial of a Nancy TUTTON on 19th. January 1762 at St. Stephen's Church. The second Nancy TUTTON, daughter of John and Elizabeth, was baptized on 31st. October 1764. -- Josephine Jeremiah www.ianandjo.dsl.pipex.com
