Hi Folks I am still trying to clear up a longstanding mystery, I have Elizabeth STARK first marriage to John HILL 4th June 1865, at first thought to be at Corfe nr Taunton, but the marriage certificate shows Taunton Register office, second marriage to Thomas WILLIAMS 23 April 1870 at Taunton Register Office. In both cases her Father is given as James Stark (deceased) Labourer. In 1865 her age was given as 22 years and in 1870 as 24 years, so maths was not a strong subject!! In the 1871 census she is with Thomas and has a daughter Mary Jane aged 4, I have checked this as being Mary Jane HILL b June qtr 1866 In subsequent census returns she is shown as originating from Taunton in 1871, 1881, 1901 from Bristol in 1891 and Bedminster in 191. In most returns her age would put her a being born about 1846-7 except the 1911 which puts her as being born 1845. I have tried the usual freebmd and Ancestry searches to no avail and wonder again if anyone has this one in their tree. Regards Patrick Williams

Since maths wasn't her strong point maybe her geography was a bit wobbly as well, have you discounted these: Births Dec 1842 Stark Elizabeth Ann Bristol 11 136 Births Sep 1843 STARK Eliza Ann Bridgwater 10 321 Births Dec 1843 STARK Elizabeth Clifton 11 310 -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Greinton and Clutton, SOM Asst OPC for Ashcott and Shapwick, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk http://www.savethegurkhas.co.uk/
Charani (UK) wrote Since maths wasn't her strong point maybe her geography was a bit wobbly as well, have you discounted these: Births Dec 1842 Stark Elizabeth Ann Bristol 11 136 I believe the father here was Thomas and listed as a Mason Births Sep 1843 STARK Eliza Ann Bridgwater 10 321 Yes this is a James but listed as a grocer and still alive in 1871 Births Dec 1843 STARK Elizabeth Clifton 11 310 I have yet to find further details on this one.
