Hi Listers: I am hoping to get some more information on John Simmons, (Symonds, Symmonds), Ag. Lab. who was born about 1821 at Ash (a couple of miles north-west of Tintinhull)- as per the 1851 census. He married Elizabeth Sealey at Tintinhull in 1848. His father was Job Simmons. I believe John was christened at Martock All Saints. There is a record of 4 Symonds christenings in the 1814 to 1821 years but I have not been able to get the given names, parents or exact dates for any of these christenings. Does SKS have access to the Martock registers that can get this info. I have not been able to get John's family in the 1841 census (his father - Job, mother - Ann, at least one sister- Frances. However I do have them in 1851 living at Tintinhull. I do have Elizabeth Sealey's family in 1841 living at Tintinhull Parish ,Stock Dennis Township - Welham's Mill. After looking at some maps this looks odd to me in that Stock Dennis appears north-east of Tintinhull, and Welham's Mill appears to be south-west of Tintinhull. John, Elizabeth and their family moved to Canada in about 1853. They are my gggrandparents on my paternal side. Thanks to everyone who can help me in any way. Gerry Edwards Ontario, Canada
