Thanks, Josephine! Googling "Somers Hill" also brings up an area called Pilgrim's Way, Chew. I don't know if this is an old name for the area or if it's a current house name. The Will definitely has the spelling Somers Hill. Because he was running a school, I'm inclined to think it was closer to Bristol. (Down Under, we consider distances differently as eg I can go to Sydney in back in one day - a car trip of three hours each way!) However, I wondered if he had a country house. Thank you for giving me the dates of deeds of messuage and land and noting from 1835. Maybe I should track what has happened to earlier land records.
