    3. Hi, again, Steade, Yes, the only absolutely good source is the image of the original page. Ancestry.com does a bang-up job in their census search section. Frequently, the census index is just plain wrong. However, the census image sorts out almost all ambiguities. Pity that we do not have something comparable for the certificates of birth, marriage and death!! For me, it is still about $10 to buy a certificate and that I can only afford for ancestors.
