Hello Bob, As Sherborne (Dorset) is on the border with Somerset, it seems quite probable that someone could physically be born and live in Somerset yet consider themselves to have been born in Sherborne. Alternatively, as a long shot, there is a hamlet called Sherborne, near Litton. It is between Chewton Mendip and West Harptree. I think it would be considered to be part of Litton. Sometimes, I think the exactness of the locations given on censuses depends on how familiar the enumerator was with local place names. I hope this helps.
