Hello Anne I have looked through the printed copy of the Preston Gubbals parish register but there is no trace of a Baptism for a John BILLINGTON at any date up to 1812. A John BILLINGTON was married by Licence at Preston Gubbals on 27 Nov 1763 to Elizth MORETON of Battlefield [parish]. There is a burial for a John BILLINGTON at Preston Gubbals on 22 July 1803 [no age or other information given]. You will need to search the surrounding parishes for the complete span of possible birth years which you have calculated from your various sources.
