Hi Does anyone have access to the Parish Records which would show the marriage of William ELLESMORE (born about 1841 in Fradswell, Staffs) to Ann ARKINSTALL (born 1846 in Newport, Shropshire area). I think they were married in the June quarter of 1867 (bmd ref 6a 1303). This is my brick wall - I need to know the parents of Ann ARKINSTALL and in the census of 1851 and 1861 she is living with James and Ann BENBOW as a "niece". I am hoping that the marriage entry in the parish records will show Ann's parents. Thanks Nick

No, but I found this on the BVR disks, compliments of LDS/Intellectual Reserve: ELLESMORE, William Marriage Wife: Ann LAKIN Marriage Date: 18 May 1846 Recorded in: Rugeley, Staffordshire, England Husband previously married Husband's Father: William ELLESMORE Wife's Father: John LAKIN Source: FHL Film 1040786 Dates: 1835 - 1876 Note: Additional Data in Original Record (I don't know what the additional data is, but if you got hold of the microfilm you would find out). And the only Ann/Anne I can find around 1846 is the following: ARKINSTALL, Anne Christening Gender: Female Birthplace: Of Knighton Wood Christening Date: 2 Nov 1845 Recorded in: Adbaston, Staffordshire, England Father: Thomas Arkinstall Mother: Sarah Source: FHL Film 1278801 Dates: 1646 - 1906 Have you ever thought that this could be the gal you are looking for, possibly born in Newport (or said to have!) and christened at Adbaston which is soooooo very close to Newport? Cheers Graham Melbourne Oz
