Hi all I'm new to the list and researching my GOUGH family tree. My GOUGH's seem to originate from Shropshire, but went over the border to Montgomeryshire around 1835'ish and then some went back to Shropshire in the late 19th Century. I have detailed below where I am with my GOUGH family tree. I need to find John and Hannah's marriage in order to get further back. I also would like to find John GOUGH's death certificate. John's last known residence was found on the 1871 census, at a Corn Mill called Marrington Mill in Marrington, Shropshire. I cannot locate him and his wife Hannah on the 1881 census, so at the moment I am assuming they died between 1871 and 1881. John GOUGH (b. c1810 Mainstone, Shropshire. Occ: Miller) married Hannah (b. c1809 Hyssington, MGY, Wales). Their children: - Sarah (b. c1831 Churchstoke, Shropshire) married George BENNETT (b. c1830) - children:- John (b. c1850 Kerry), Jane Elizabeth (b. c1858, Llandinam). - Jane (b. c1833 Kerry, MGY). - Thomas (b. c1837 Llandysil, MGY. Occ: Miner) married Anne GEORGE (b.1832 Llangurig, MGY) - children all born in Llangurig:- Thomas C. (b.c1855), Anne (b.c1857), Richard (b. 14 Mar 1859), William (b.c1864), John (b.c1867), Henry (b.c1869), Ellen J. (b.c1871), Joseph (b.c1873), Mary (b.c1875). - William (b. c1839 Llandysil, MGY) - John (b. c1842 Llandysil, MGY. Occ: Miller) married Jane (b. c1848 Scotland) - children:- John (b. c1878 Welshpool), Robert (b. c1880 Chirbury). Found this family on the 1881 census at Upper Mill, Wentnor, Shropshire - Susannah (b. c1844 Llandysil, MGY) - Catherine (b.1847 Llanmerewig, MGY) - Elizabeth (b. 1848 Newtown, MGY) - Trephena (spelling?) (b. 1848 Llanidloes, MGY) - Hannah (b. c1855 Llanidloes, MGY) Most of the information I have found is from census records and some from certificates. Regards Andrea
