This is what I have, it's way back, a 1730 marriage of my 5X great grandparents. I know very little of the MATHER connection, I think the surname was in the SHARESHILL, Staffordshire parish but was quite popular in Lancashire. from - http://www.phc.igs.net/~gordpace/main.htm#p1 4 JOSEPH/Joshua PACE - Chr 10 Sep 1709 Ranton - P010021 shows JOSEPH (Christian name) - my 5X great grandparents + MARGARET MATHER - m 23 Sept 1730 at SHARESHILL 1. JOSEPH....b 1 Feb 1735 Little Saredon, Staffordshire, UK 4X grandfather CLICK HERE - letter from another descendent with same ancestry 2. MARY......b 1 Feb 1735 m EDWARD CORBETT 1767 3. MARGARET..b 18 Mar 1738 posssibly wed JOHN GOSLING 1768 4. SARAH......b 11 Jul 1742 buried 3 Sept 1742 In the Shareshill PR the name appeared as MALDER and the MARGARET appeared to possible have a sister who married a few months earlier: http://www.phc.igs.net/~gordpace/pitt.htm 29 Mar 1730 - Elizabeth MALDER wed WILLIAM BOYDON 23 Sept 1730 - JOSHUA PASTE (PACE) wed MARGARET MALDER both of Little Sardon - likely born JOSEPH at Ranton 1709 I'm skeptical of records in the Shareshill parish, my 5X great grandfather was Christened as JOSEPH PACE at Ranton, Staffordshire on the 10th Sep 1709 - LDS P010021 but became JOSHUA at Shareshill and the surname changed from PACE to PASTE and MATHER became MALDER which could be caused by handwriting interpretation, maybe. I did record these SHARESHILL records from the LDS microfilm which I ordered from Salt Lake City and paid the three installments to retain it permanently at my local FHC. Another distant PACE cousin, a volunteer at the LDS FHC in Pittsburg, also recorded it as Malder. Anyway, My people may be of a different era than yours. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Gord Pace, Brighton,Ontario,Can.
