I'd like more information from someone in the know. It would, of course, seem to be a fairly logical idea as the millions of records must take up an enormous amount of space. Again, I don't see how the whole IGI can possibly be viewed on the CDs as these were distributed years ago and the IGI is updated regularly. We have the old CDs in our State Library and these are pre 1999. Lots of records have been added since then. Is someone pulling our leg, or not? The British Vital Records discs, 2nd edition (as additions) were distributed in 2001 and these certainly are not on the early IGI (Family Search) CDs. As far as I know no Family Search or IGI CDs have been issued since the 1990s. There was a rotation system in place in the early days of 1999 when the online system was put into place because of the demand, but as far as I know that was discontinued. Anyone??? 3. I think what Shropshire are saying - certainly how I understood it when I was last there - is that their Shropshire records on their CDs include all of Shropshire not just a possible 1/3rd.
