The railway was extended from Ruabon to Shrewsbury in about 1848 and probably cut off Park Issa from Park Hall. 'Issa' or 'Isaf' is Welsh for 'lowest', implying its geographic position on the estate, but would be more little to be translated to 'Lower Park' or 'Nether Park' in English. So there may be a connection there? Ian
