My 2x gt grandfather William Williams (b ~1800 in Fitz) married Ann Unknown (b ~1805 in Petton). Their first child was born in 1838. Neither this child nor their subsequent children were registered. I can not find a marriage for the couple so I can only assume the this took place before civil registration. My only hope of finding Ann's maiden name is from the marriage and my hope is that they were married at Petton. Does anyone know if the church records for Petton or the surrounding villages can be examined? Any help would be much appreciated.
