    3. Hello List I have just resubscribed to the list after several months off. I have run into a brick wall with my Morris/Jones lines.I have tried to find a marriage for Edward Jones born LLanrhaiadr 1819, and an Elizabeth Morris born Llansillin 1820. I know Edward Jones was unmarried on the 1851 census and living in Llanrhaiadr as a Farm Labourer. There is a good match for Elizabeth Morris working as a Servant in Oswestry on the 1851 census. The two are married in 1861 with children and living in the "Commons" Llanrhaiadr as follows: Edward Jones age 35 Labourer born llanrhaiadr Denbs Elizabeth Jones age 35 born Llansillin, Denbs Maurice Jones age 9 born Oswestry 1851/1852 Eleonor Jones age 8 born Llanrhaiadr about 1853/4 Elizabeth Jones age 2 born Llanrhaiadr,September 15 1857 William Jones age 1 born Llanrhaiadr Denbigh March 13,1860. I have tried to get a birth certificate for Mourice Jones born Oswestry about 1851/1852 but have had no success, I am beginning to think hwe may have been born prior to his parents marriage. I have also tied to get a marriage cert for Edward and Elizabeth giving the time frame between 1851/1853, no luck. Eleoners birth in Llarhaiadr Denb is also not found. I was successful in getting a birth certificate for both Elizabeth September 1857 and William Jones March 1860 from Wewlshpool, which gives their mothers maiden name of Morris. Without a marriage certificate which will hopefully give me a name for the father's of Edward Jones and Elizabeth morris I can not go back any earlier. Any help or advice woulb be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Sheila Conway Ontario, Canada.

I had discounted this due to the different surname of Lewis rather than Morris for Elizabeth. I will probably look into that one. My only other thought was as Elizabeth was living in Oswestry in 1851 they may have married there, now as Diane mentioned there is another possible theory that Elizabeth Morris could have been a second wife, and not the mother of Maurice Jones. Well worth the while looking into it. Regards Sheila Conway Ontario, Canada.
