    3. Hi Barry, The short answer is Yes. You have 6 weeks to register a birth & if the parents waited until January it would appear in the Mar Qtr of the following year. Regards Yvonne -----Original Message----- From: BARRY DEAKIN [mailto:barrydeakin@blueyonder.co.uk] Sent: 01 July 2006 15:13 To: ENG-SHROPSHIRE-PLUS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ENG-SHROP] {Eng Shrop] birth cert Hi I have been given a date of birth of an Alfred Henry Richardson on 17/12/1904 in Brighton from a short form certificate. I am trying to determine his parents from the 1901 census. I have a marriage cert so I have the father but there are 2 possibilities in Brighton. I have looked on the 1837-1983 births but cannot find one in the Dec qtr of 1904. I can however find an Alfred Henry Richardson in the jan-feb-mar qrt for 1905 in Brighton. If the birth was registered late and not until Jan would it have appeared in the 1905 Qrt? 3. This is an interesting subject for me. 2x great grandmother, Ellen Edge was born c 1839 somewhere in the Macclesfield area of Cheshire but the only Ellen Edge on Cheshire BMD is registered in 1842. Could these be one and the same at such an early period of registration?
