    3. This a total `long shot`! Has anyone come across a Florence Anne LINNEY in their Tree? She was alive in 1922 when she was a beneficiary in the Will of my great great aunt Maria DAYUS of Longnor as 'my step niece'. Her relationship has long posed a mystery as I cannot find any connection with this surname. Have searched the Partial Death Indexes after 1922. The 1901 Census doesn`t help me either as I am not sure if this is her married or maiden name. Maria was a spinster so the 'niece' can only be on her father or mother's side. Her father, my great great grandfather, Samuel DAYUS was married twice. All the children and lineage of the first marriage are accounted for except one: Anne DAYUS baptised 12 October 1823 Longnor. Aged 17 in 1841 with family. Not found in 1851. No marriage traced. No burial found. No further information about her. All children and lineage of second marriage accounted for. However, Maria's mother, Mary, nee BULLOCK, had a child Sarah BULLOCK baptised at Pontesbury in 1833. No father mentioned, 4 years before her marriage to Samuel DAYUS. This Sarah was brought up at Longnor by Mary's brother, William and his wife, Hannah where she was living in 1851, just a few doors away from her mother! Not there in 1861 and no trace thereafter found. I would be interested to hear of any sightings or suggestions. Ann
