    3. Hello all, I have just discovered my GGG Grandfather Francis ADAMS was born in Oakengates (c1807). Could anyone advise me where and indeed if I can search the records for a birth. I live in Suffolk so difficult to visit personally. Any help gratefully received. Regards Martin

    3. Hello Martin Oakengates was formed into an ecclesiastical parish in 1855 from the parishes of Shifnal and Wombridge so you will need to check both of those parishes for the baptism of Francis ADAMS c.1807. There are transcripts of both of the above parishes at Shrewsbury up to 1812 which suggests they should appear on the LDS (Mormon) Family Search web site at www.familysearch.org but the only entry I could see on a quick search was in 1803 at Broseley so you will need to do some more work on this, probably at Shrewsbury.
