Hello Angela You are certainly looking at Uffington rather than Uppington if it was near the River Severn and I would guess that the actual place was probably Pimley Rough. Go to the Old Maps web site at www.old-maps.co.uk then put the co-ordinates *351212,314439* (exactly as written here) at top left and click Co-ordinate then Search. A small area of mapping from 1888 will come up on screen. Click Enlarged View at the bottom of the screen to getter a better image to save and print. This location is on the north eastern outskirts of Shrewsbury so it is a Shrewsbury paper you need to look at, although I realise that might be difficult from Switzerland.
