Hello everybody I am new to this list and have joined in the hope that you may be able to assist in finding out more information about the drowning of my grandfather's brother Alfred ASHBY. He was born in East London around 1902, and was in the Royal Air Force when he died aged 19. I don't know if he was living in the area at the time or just visiting. His death certificate shows that he died on 13 July 1921 in the River Severn at P? Rough? In the parish of Uffington or Uppington. The cause of death shows that he accidentally drowned while ? in waters of the River Severn. I thought that perhaps this may have been reported in a local newspaper at the time or perhaps someone may recall such a story from a member of their family, though I realise it was a long time ago. Any assistance you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Regards Angela
