    3. Hi Cheryl That is very interesting. I am sure you have the correct family, although according to the GRO index John was born in 1888 and Richard in 1892; John was shown as age 2 at the 1891 census. Can you let me have more details of the immigration info off list, please? Or let me know how I can find it myself? My contact is John's grandson, another Richard. His father is also John, now in his 80's. (Confused yet?) Apparently the two John's didn't get on so the info is a bit scrappy. According to Richard (III), Richard (I) sold his farm in Market Drayton, giving John (I) and Richard (II) sufficient cash with which to emigrate. This makes sense - Richard (I) is a farmer at Marchamley in 1891 and a carter at Fauls in 1901. I was particularly interested that Richard (I) seems to have moved to Ironbridge. I don't know of a NewBridge Road, although there is certainly a New Road (I walked up it this afternoon!). Interestingly a Richard Sands is on the electoral register at 55 Church Street in the spring of 1920. I assumed Richard (II) had come back temporarily from the States, but perhaps his father was still around? Any light you can throw on the immigration would be most helpful. Thanks for what you have already told me. Regards John
