I have all (I hope) Price baptisms, marriages & burials for St. Mary, Ellesmere transcribed down from original regs and Bts from early days up to 1890s Bagley, being a little lower, I would have thought your Thomas may have been baptised at Cockshutt as it is closer than the long haul up to Ellesmere. I have one baptism of a Thomas Price which certainly does fit the age of your Thomas, but have my doubts as it is at Lea or Lee which is much closer to Ellesmere than Bagley. Still: number 637 original registers 1813-1880, 20 May 1842, Thomas s/o John & Mary Price of Lea, labourer, baptised by J.A. Cotton, vicar of Ellesmere, (at Cockshutt). Then going to St. Mary Ellesmere registers, taking any from 1840, there is only: page 133, No. 1064, 9 Apr 1840 Thomas s/o John & Anne Price of Tetchill, Boatman I also looked to see if there were any other Prices baptised who were from Bagley, but there were none within the time-span. My transcribings on marriages for St. Mary, Ellesmere, does not reveal anything, either, sadly. No Prices within a 20 year period either side of 1870 have come up from Bagley to marry, it would seem. Checking through the burials of Cockshutt there are no Prices mentioned being from Bagley, and the same at St. Mary, Ellesmere. Possibly, your Price folk came into the area temporarily and then "vanished" just as quickly.
