If the children were twins, it would normally be mentioned in the transcripts or the original parish registers and they would indeed generally (but not always) have a seperate number on the page. Very occasionally they were put in the same page number as for instance Mary and John twins of Joseph & Martha Higgins, etc. But this was unusual, most clerics preferring to give different numberings to the children, unless this was for recordings in the 1600s and 1700s when regs/transcripts were poorly written up. As for a gentleman with tools, I have not a clue. Chers Graham
