A common respectful entry for a military officer spelled correct or not! I also find it interesting that my Grandmother was born in Derby, Lancashire in 1899, her mother in Shropshire, Whitchurch in 1868, residences listed as Derbyshire, Lancashire, Kent, etc.........the area is very close in at times when needs for moving into housing and the occupation changes. My grandmother's father was from a family involved in gunpowder manufacturing and were in Kent, Wiltshire, etc for the births of many children. The powder manufacturing was linked to the cotton mills in the later years. The arsenils may be a locale of interest as your George was involved in the military, also. This 1841 census has no spouse as it is in the Barracks and the entire list is soldiers. I think you will not find too many census with Harriet/Harriett in his household! Soldiers came and went from homes. Check it out. I enteres only George Griffith with no "s" on the end and born plus/minus 5 year of 1806; no birth locale and no exact spelling. It was on page 11.
