Qtr 1838, Salford Dist. lists? Perhaps Harriet was a second wife or something? I did see another George and Sarah couple but may have been someone else... Did you find any HOOKER family near the places that Harriet/Harriett gave as a birth place by reviewing the 1841 census of the location? I wonder if her death record would give closest living relative and/or some other information? I had a devil of the time finding my Grandmother's father's mother [eg. grandma's grandmother] because she was called LOCKWOOD and HURST at various times or on other documents. I found out this woman had been "adopted" by a HURST who married her mother who had several other children previously. I could not find that this HURST family had any other children but have followed up on the other children who were the great-grandma's siblings in 1841 and 1851. I wonder if your George actually had a skill by birth........he may have labored before his entry into the service at age of 23 in 1829.........possible links by trade research might help some by using the female's surname of HOOKER. I found it interesting that there was a GRIFFITH BUILDING in Croydon and Manchester pages........ Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
