I am following any possible leads since my information is so iffy. I have been told that some criminals ended up in Nova Scotia & the Islands during the mid 1800's and am checking this out. Wonder if a family's "social standing" had any influence where you ended up, or if he did go to Australia and served his time, or if he was on the run after being charged, or this is all pure fiction. He didn't end up in Canada until he was in his forties. This leaves a lot of time unaccounted for. It seems as if what would be called as a "crime against the realm" is a wide catagory. I will at least end up with a better knowledge of history from trying to solve this puzzle. I'll look up the Fenians on the web. I actually haven't heard the term Fenians before. Learning more every day. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
