Their names were John Pountney and Beatrice Selina Davies, they married in Church Stretton, Shropshire, England. John and Beatrice had 9 children together. Jack/John Pountney, Dennis Pountney, Alfred Pountney, Brian Pountney, Dave Pountney, Gladys Pountney (married Peter Downward), Joan Pountney (can't remember her married name), Shirley Pountney (married William Henry Tracey), Mary Pountney (Mary is my mum!, and she married John Page my dad!!!). I'm trying to find John Pountney's family in the 1800's, and maybe even earlier, just like i'm trying to find the Davies connections, (that already have expanded to other surnames and places in England).... and possibly the 1900's. I have hearsay and this and that, but no definate dates, names, places. It's like a mystery within a mystery!. Did John Pountney's family originate in Church Stretton for example. I mean why get married there?. I guess i suppose it's another trip to the library archives in Shrewsbury!. It seems strange, that by 1930 Beatrice Davies had married John Pountney, and they lived at 2 Eyton Road, Baschurch, Near Shrewsbury in Shropshire. And yet, they married in Church Stretton in 1928, just a few months before their son Jack/John Pountney was born!..... Such a mystery, that i'm determined to solve somehow!!!.
