My first list here. I am researching the VIGORS branch of my family. My Gr gr grandfather HENRY VIGORS was born in Bilston/Beltin? Shropshire in 1768. His brothers and sisters were: Mary, Thomas, Silvanus, Sarah, Martha, William, Richard, John and George. He left Shropshire around 1810 approx and moved to Neath South Wales to Neath Abbey Ironworks, he died 13.02.1830 aged 62 at Cadoxton Neath. Staffordshire archive services were unable to trace anything about HENRYS baptism or parentage, I'm really stuck! Does anyone have any research about the VIGORS family's in Shropshire? Hello Cheryl I am curious where you have obtained the place of birth from. As far as I am aware there is no place called Bilston in Shropshire - the nearest being in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire although there is another in Scotland. Further a search for Beltin fails to find one anywhere in the UK. There are several places called Belton in England including one a mile south west of Whitchurch, Shropshire but as far as I can see it is probably just a farm rather than 'place'.
