The marriage reference is Cleobury Mortimer 6a 1442 As far as the daughter is concerned, there is a birth registered for a Marion J PEARCE with a mother having the maiden surname POWELL registered in Jul, Aug or Sep 1923 in the Cleobury Mortimer registration district, which fits well with the marriage above. You already know the details of your father's second marriage, so his first wife must have died between 1923 and the second marriage, quite possibly during or soon after child birth. As for Marion, after the death of her mother she may have been 'adopted' by an uncle or aunt or even someone living in the area but formal adoption did not start until 1927. If the first wife died after 1927 I suggest you contact the Social Services Department of your local council for advise.
