Hmmm, have you tried the various UK consulates in those areas? Might be worthwhile. A bit of a task, I know, but I have found some of my own out there in Rio Janerio, etc. basking in the sun. Births registered with the local consulate, as they had to be. So, there are always some strange records available a little above brick walls.
