Hi I wonder if anyone can help me i have been trying to find the marriage of my Thomas Anslow who was from Hopton Wafers, Shropshire and was christened 11 Oct 1778. I know he married a Martha but i have been unalbe to find out her surname, they had four childrent hat i know of Francis, Mary, William and Thomas. Francis i think was the eldest and he was born about 1798, can anyone help me find the maiden name of Martha. Hello Sandra, I have Anslows in my tree but afraid I am no help as my Ann Anslow married John Holmes in 1832 in Brewood, Staffs. They then lived in Shifnal Shropshire. However her birth on the censuses is given as At Sea, East or possibly West Indies (depending on the census). Hmmm, have you tried the various UK consulates in those areas? Might be worthwhile. A bit of a task, I know, but I have found some of my own out there in Rio Janerio, etc. basking in the sun. Births registered with the local consulate, as they had to be. So, there are always some strange records available a little above brick walls. Cheers Graham Melbourne Oz
