I am seeking to confirm the parentage of Richard BENBOW (or BEMBO, or BEMBOW), who was born around 1833, and died in Llananno (Radnorshire) in 1862. Census records show his birthplace as Kerry (Ceri) in Montgomeryshire, but I have not found a baptismal record there. His marriage certificate names his father as Price BEMBO, farmer. One of two likely candidates is a Price/Pryce BENBOW/BEMBO/BEMBOW (1775, Newtown, MGY - 1860, Kerry) who was discussed in this list some years ago: after farming in Kerry he married his second wife, Elizabeth CROFT, in Norbury in Shropshire in 1820, and in 1841 they are at the Seven Stars in Pontesbury, with a ten-year old daughter Jane.
