Hi Listers In the 1851 Census for New Hadley, John Ikin is shown age 39, b Wombridge My research took me to this entry in the IGI : John Eacken chr Wombridge 29 Jan 1809, f Samuel m Elizabeth This sounded interesting as the Ekin/Ikin/Eacken etc surname has several variations However, I am aware that other researchers have recorded : John Ickin chr Wellington 22 Oct 1809 f Samuel m Sarah I wonder if anyone has any thoughts or ideas as to how this might be resolved As Harry Hill would say, which is better, John Eacken or John Ickin, there’s only one way to find out!
