    3. Further to this an ancient email by Judy, ie.: 29 Mar 2004 10:32:17 Yes, I know this is an ancient message that I am replying to, but I have just been trawling through the old messages in the inbox. Your Rowland seems to have been a big cheese in Broseley, listed in 1895 Kellys under private residents (King St) as well as his entry in the commercial section: Smitheman Rowland & Co, builders and tobacco pipe manufacturers, Crown pipe works, King street. No mention of Edwin, but there was a rival: Southorn William & Co, tobacco pipe manufacturers by steam, Broseley pipe works, I also found this in the Broseley section: "Broseley has long enjoyed a great celebrity in the manufacture of superior glazed tobacco pipes, the establishments of William Southorn & Co and R. Smitheman & Co being amongst the most extensive in the kingdom." Judy...... At 2pm NZ time, 1am GMT (in 4.5 hrs time), Greymouth will be having their remembrance for the coal mine tragedy. Their mayor, Tony Kokshoorn's mother was a Southorn descendant, from the above pipe manufacturers. Are there any other descendants ?
