Thank you to everyone who has been supportive of my efforts to find my Booth and Ebrey families in northern Shropshire. With kind help and GRO records, I have found that the father of Joseph Booth, my 3rd greatgrandfather, was George Booth, a farmer -- apparently in the Market Drayton area of northern Shropshire. He would have been born about 1785 and likely married about 1805, possibly to a woman named Sarah. George's name and occupation appear on the marriage record for his son Joseph C. Booth when Joseph, as a widower, married for the second time in 1863. Joseph was born in Shakeford a small village south of Market Drayton on 26 Nov 1808, according to family and census records. So now I am searching for George Booth - his parents, wife and children.
