    3. Hi Mike This has come up on a number of sites. The cost whilst a big rise is still low compared to other countries/states. Victoria charges about 11 pounds but it can ve downloaded on line. Queensland charges about 23 punds and is only available by mail. It would seem that the GRO needs to improve the index and give greater access to online certificates instead of the current lottery. Must send off before the end of March Jim Hill - Melbourne -----Original Message----- From: eng-shropshire-plus-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:eng-shropshire-plus-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Michael J Hulme Sent: Tuesday, 2 March 2010 6:57 PM To: Eng-Shropshire-Plus@Rootsweb.com Subject: [ENG-SHROP] Cost of Certificates increasing Hello Everyone It has just been announced that the cost of Certificates will increase to GBP 9.25 from 6th April 2010. Ahah, but Victoria certainly has one up on the UK with the availability of Wills and Admins online absolutely FREE! You can access any from 1841 to 1925 simply by going to <http://proarchives.imagineering.com.au/index_search.asp?searchid=54>http://proarchives.imagineering.com.au/index_search.asp?searchid=54 or to the home page at <http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/>http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/ and these are not just indexes - the full digital record is yours to download, although one might be somewhat selective as many of these would be very large files. Cheers Graham Melbourne Oz
