Hi Does anyone know where 'Jackfield Trails' or 'Mown Wood' is in Broseley? I have found people in 1841 to 81 there but cannot find reference to it. Regards Barry

Hi Barry, 'Mone' Wood is half way between Broseley & Jackfield, can't spot Jackfield Trails on the old maps site but it can't be far away. Hello Barry I think you will find your first reference should read Jackfield Rails rather than Trails and it was somewhere in Jackfield as the name suggests. I would guess this might refer to some sort of narrow gauge track for the movement of local material. The Gazetteer of Shropshire Place Names doesn't include anything like Mown Wood, so is there any chance there could be an alternative spelling.
