All I know about my great-great grandparents on my father's paternal line are their names -- Richard ROBINSON and Mary PALMER. I know a reasonable amount about Richard's son (my great grandfather) Thomas ROBINSON and his wife Emma LEEKE, and I was hoping that perhaps someone could give me some info about Richard and Mary by tracing them back through Thomas and Emma, or might be able to tell me how I can trace them back. I've not found anything online regarding Richard and Mary. Thomas ROBINSON was born 11 May 1844 at the Respass House, parish of Clun, county of Salop (Shropshire). His wife Emma LEEKE was born 26 Nov 1848 at the Brook House, parish of Hyssington, county of Salop (Shropshire). Emma's parents were Benjamin LEEKE, born 25 Dec 1809 in the same place as his daughter Emma, and Benjamin's wife Mary LLOYD was born 11 Feb 1814 (location unknown). Thomas and Emma married 4 Oct 1873 at the parish church, parish of Encall Magna, Salop (Shropshire). At the time they were living in Rodington, parish of Wellington, county of Salop (Shropshire). I've run into a brick wall with Richard ROBINSON and Mary PALMER. I would greatly appreciate any information that might help me learn more about Richard and Mary, and thus might enable me to trace this line of my ancestry further back. Thank you so much. Sincerely, Leland W. Robinson Frederick, Maryland, USA

My 7X great grandmother was a MARGARET PALMER Christened 1631 at Wellington. Her PALMER family moved from WELLINGTON to HIGH ERCALL (Ercall Magna) 1631-1632 according to the Christenings I've found and recorded. MARGARET married 1653 to JOSEPH PACE at HIGH ERCALL Their 1st child ANN PACE Chr. Nov 02 1655 at Rodington. Their 2nd child JOHN PACE Chr. 22 Sept. 1665 Wrockwardine. Their 3rd child GEORGE PACE Chr. 28 May Prees. my 6X great grandfather (m 1st Cotterell; m 2nd Picken) JOHN PACE Chr. 1665 is now thought to have emigrated to colonial Virginia; has family Chr. records in Christ Church, Middlesex Co. Virginia and much ongoing PACE and related surname history in the US - to this day in time. One of these related surnames is ROBINSON. The PACE-ROBINSON researcher lives in Pheonix, Maryland, USA. Some of the related surnames of colonial Virginia, later Kentucky, Missouri, and beyond, remain the same surnames, some of which are the same surnames in the same Shropshire parishes as my PACE ancestry. You mention: Thomas & Emma were married 1873 at Encall Magna (probably Ercall Magna) and living, at the time, at Rodington, parish of Wellington. The time difference between seems to be 200 years between your records and mine. Do you think there's any possibility of a connection?
