Hello, I am seeking more about the parents of Joseph C. Booth who was > born 26 Nov 1808 in Shakeford, a small village south of Market Drayton. [Date >from family records. Place from 1881 census; other census records say Drayton or > >Market Drayton.] > married first Jemima Lawton 12 April 1831 in Hodnet > married second Mary Higginson 12 April 1863 in Market Drayton > died 3 Sep 1881 in Cheshire and buried in Alderley Edge, Chorlton, Cheshire   When Joseph married a second time in 1863, he gave his father as George Booth, farmer. It seems likely that George Booth was a farmer in the area near Shakeford and Market Drayton.   I do not find an IGI for the birth/baptism of Joseph Booth. There is an IGI record for the christening in Market Drayton on 28 Feb 1807 of a Mary Booth, daughter of George Booth and Sarah. I wonder if these might be Joseph's parents and sister?   There is an IGI for the 22 MAY 1794 marriage in Market Drayton of George Booth and Sarah Shuker. Might these be the parents of the Mary Booth mentioned above?   There also is an IGI for the christening of a Mary Booth, daughter of George Booth, in August 1795 in Market Drayton. Might this Mary have been a first child who died young? There are no other Booth christenings on IGI for children of George Booth for Market Drayton in 1780 - 1820 that I can find.   FreeBMD has a George Booth who died in the 3rd quarter of 1845 in Market Drayton and a Sarah Booth who died in the first quarter of 1841 in Market Drayton. Those are possible matches to the Booth individuals mentioned in this query, but I have no way to confirm them as spouses - or connect them to Joseph C.
